Twitter buyers are slamming rapper DDG soon after he seemingly called out his girlfriend, actor Halle Bailey, in a new music.
Darryl Dwayne Granberry Jr., acknowledged skillfully as DDG, seems to shade the “Little Mermaid” star in his track “Well known,” which was produced more than the weekend. In it, he raps about experience “insecure” about her getting a male co-star, seemingly referring to the Disney film.
At a single place in the song, the rapper alludes to Bailey locking lips with her co-star, Jonah Hauer-King: “Filmin’ a movie now you kissing dudes / You know I love you a great deal / I never give a fuck if that shit for promo / I don’t wanna see this shit no much more.”
Soon after the tune dropped, a number of Twitter end users reacted to the track, with many of them blasting DDG for attempting to “ruin” Bailey’s profession.
Other individuals on Twitter seemed to aspect with the rapper, even suggesting that Bailey will have to have listened to the tune just before its release.
Somewhere else in the song, DDG appears to unleash his emotions about Bailey holding fingers with Hauer-King during the U.K. premiere of their film, crooning: “Why is y’all holdin’ arms in the photograph? / You know I’m insecure, which is a no-no.”
The “Impatient” musician also seemingly addresses his thoughts about the former YouTube performer’s climbing stardom in the song’s chorus.
“Fall in really like, I detest that shit / Knockin’ me off my grind, I can not fuck with relationships / I ain’t even acquired adequate time in a day for me to chase a bitch / I do not even inquire for a lot, I check with you to do the primary shit / Most difficult factor I did was tumble in enjoy with a renowned bitch,” he raps.
The few to start with sparked rumors about their romance in January 2022 after they were being noticed at Usher’s Las Vegas residency. Two months later, DDG produced their relationship Instagram official.
In May well, Bailey dealt with considerations from fans about the pair’s controversial partnership.
“It’s definitely funny how people today appear at you [as] nonetheless being this youthful lady, even now becoming this harmless, untouchable detail,” Bailey instructed Glamour. “I recognize that, as I undertaking into adulthood, I’m equipped to make my personal choices.”
