Supermodel Linda Evangelista has claimed she was abused by her ex-spouse, French former modelling agent Gerald Marie.
Evangelista, 58, was married to Marie from 1987 right up until 1993, during his time as head of the European division of Elite Products.
In an interview for a new Apple Television set+ documentary, The Tremendous Types, Evangelista described her 5-12 months relationship to Marie as an “abusive relationship”.
“It’s easier said than done to depart an abusive partnership,” she explained in the programme produced on Wednesday 20 September. “I comprehend that idea, mainly because I lived it. If it was just a make a difference of saying, ‘I want a divorce, see ya’… it doesn’t work that way.”
She extra: “He knew not to contact my face, not to touch the funds-maker, you know?”
The Independent has contacted representatives of Marie for remark.
In a assertion offered to Apple Tv set+, and received by The Telegraph, the 73-12 months-outdated denied the abuse allegations, and said he “has hardly ever fully commited the slightest act of violence”.

Marie was accused of rape and sexual assault by several gals all through the 1980s and 1990s. He denied all of the allegations.
In 2021, French prosecutors resolved to shut their investigation given that the allegations exceeded the country’s statute of restrictions for reporting intercourse crimes.
